The union embarked on a strike action on-the 14th of August . Announcing the suspension the president of the union professor Biodun ogunyemi said the strike would be suspended until the end of October so that the federal government can fulfill all the promises it had made with the association in 2009 and failure to-do so would result in the resumption of the strike.
