Evangelist Nsikak Akpan the zonal chairman central working committee south south general council of Assemblies of God church , revealed that the zone decided to break away from the general council administration as a means of exercising some degree of self governance on all the zones under the general council administration of the church.
He further stated that the general council had grown too big which breds inefficiency and also became too expensive to run, Evan Nsikak also said that the trend led to unhealthy rivalry that resulted in a supremacy battle between Rev Paul Emeka the General suprintendent of Assemblies of God Nigeria and Rev Chidi Okoroafor who is an executive committee member.
