According to reports by vanguard news, a faction of the Assemblies of God church Nigeria has been dragged to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by the assistant general suprintendent accusing the faction of Rev Okoroafor and six others for alleged fraudulent conversion of church funds to personal use.
Rev ramsey Ogagaoghene, in a petition written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions. said that the faction of the general Suprintendent Rev Chidi Okoroafor and others allegedly enbezzeled over N100BILLION church funds.
Rev chidi Okoroafor is also accussed of throwing the church into crisis, he formed a parallel faction and he did all this when he was the assistant general suprintendent.
The petition reads in part '' on behalf of the assistant general suprintendent of the Assemblies of God, rev Ramzey Ogagaoghene, Bright Arukwe, Clement Esochagii, Oliver Udensi and Sunday Palmer and on behalf of pastors and other concerned members of the assemblies of God church Nigeria , we claim that Rev Vincent Alaje, Rev Femi Adegoke, mr Dickson Ukpai, Mr Micheal Ugbor, elder mike okoro and Tony Ewelike engaged in illegal and unauthorized business without the approval of the general suprintendent.
Rev Vincent Alaje reportedly spent N115 MILLION belonging to the church , personally negotiated and concluded payments for 3 plots of land without the consent of the general suprintendent and other officers of the church, Vincent Alaje is also accused of commandeering church money. approving same by himself and making unathorised payments without the consent of the general suprintendent.
The petition also indicts Rev Vincent Alaje of of illegally collection of N2.8 MILLION staff investment without any authorization which was against the general councils accounts procedures.. The former general council media director mr Femi Adegoke was also accused of defrauding the church of over N50 million
